Joey Marc has always been an intuitive trailblazer. As an empathic Aries Sun, and Taurus Moon and Rising, they embody the spirit of a meteor.

They were raised in a beach town in Connecticut just an hour train ride away from Manhattan, New York, and formally trained in fine arts since pre-kindergarten. They were primarily a classical landscape oil painter starting in middle school, before moving to Brooklyn, New York to study at Pratt Institute.

They majored in Fine Arts Painting with a minor in Community Art & Design Education. Joey is passionate about art and helping the community, and has experience with assisting practicing artists and art instructors since high school. Joey also loves to work with people of all ages and all abilities. Now residing in Denver, Colorado, 'USA,' they are further exploring their art practice.

Their work consists of oil and acrylic paintings on canvas, wooden panels, and other fabrics. They have experimented with found materials and uses them in their installations. Their work is inspired by their environment, mental health, past traumas, and therapy experiences.

They value the practice of mindfulness to better understand the world around them in the past and present. Any place a person stands is a space, but their works focus on being in that space. They hope that viewers become mindful of their own perceptions and emotional responses to their surroundings.

In addition to being an artist, Joey is an Ordained Spiritual Humanist, although they are more aligned with being an Omni-Humanist Nomad. They have lived in 8 cities accross 6 states, throughout 3 time zones, and have visited 30/50 states, including D.C., with experience driving personal vehicles, minivans, cargo vans, and box trucks.

They are proficient in reading Tarot and oracle cards, and is beginning to explore herbalism. Joey loves to go on scenic hikes, swimming in natural bodies of water, singing, dancing, meditating, people watching, and is in recovery from the disease of addiction.

Joey enjoys researching the mysteries of the Universe, and loves going on road trips. They enjoy hanging out with cats, and finding QTBIPOC and sober friendly places to visit. They love quaint cafés, board games, creative writing, and is interested in learning equestrianism, and motorsports. Joey is also hoping to learn archery and knife throwing. They grew up going fishing and crabbing with their family and is proficient in cleaning fish.

Joey is passionate about collective action towards healing the planet, fire safety, bartering, and mutual aid. They continue to amplify Disability Justice as well as fat liberation and other forms of community care.

They are dedicated to bringing stability to vulnerable populations through empowering creative outlets within an educational lens. Through active listening, and structural empathetic framework, they identify and find solutions for disconnections within environments ranging from group structures to individual mentorship.

They reflect back needs within an unbiased grander perspective, by focusing on the root causes of challenges to build towards a goal. Their work bridges the gap for those looking to connect deeply with Self and the community at large, using Creative Arts with emphasis on self-expression as their primary medium.

From building in the classroom, art studio, campus library, public library, museum classes, as well as assisting independent artists, local gallery support, customer service, and direct guidance for those who too often feel overlooked...

They have been able to effectively problem-solve with their lifelong background in Art. They search for the roads less traveled to unlock doors to discover hidden tools. They believe that the way we face obstacles, is learning how to navigate them.

Joey's mission is to continue to utilize their voice fueled by their passions, to empower others to embody their truest self.
